What a shame the new Madrid has become. The Madrid of old had style, they had greats like Zidane, True Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos who represented a classier Madrid that demanded respect - this younger "punk" version has loud mouths like Anti-Ronaldo, Ramos, and Pepe who lack style or grace. Frankly, I cannot but help show my discontent and bias against a team that uses dirty tactics against quality players in effort to send them off on stretchers.
An interesting thing happened when I watched a late-night program about the Mafia paralleling what's going on now with Madrid: The program stated that the old mafia used "controlled" violence - it was good for "business" whereas new blood had no respect for the old ways and always walked in like a bunch of thugs with guns blaring - this was bad for "business". This younger Madrid generation has no respect for the beautiful game that is embodied in Spanish football. Hence, while some bloggers refer to Madrid as the Evil Empire, I refer to them as the "White Castle Gang" (because they don't deserve to be called Mafioso) and will continue to do so until they change their Modus Operandi.
It's a matter of respect!!!
What sayest thou?
I somewhat agree, I'm not a fan of the new Madrid, they do lack the respect and class that Madrid had in the early 2000's, I started watching football because of the likes of Figo and Zidane, so it's sad to see a team that has a player like Ronaldo as one of the team leaders, he's an amazing player, one of the best of his generation, if not the best, but a team leader he is not.
ReplyDeleteI do, however, have great respect for Mourinho, he is a footballing genius, he plays mindgames, which can get annoying, but his tactics are mostly spot on...his logic is simple, he was hired to win games, and he's doing that, he doesn't care how he wins as long as he does...
I'm not a fan of Spanish football, but that's mainly due to the media annoying me about them, and their lack of tactics that don't rely on Xavi alone. But that's beyond the point, I simply have a view that respect is important in football, and both Barca and Madrid are lacking in that front,
